Snowmobile AST Courses | Golden, Revelstoke, Valemount, McBride, Fernie
Sledding safely in the mountains is ‘heads up hockey’ and life long learning that comes with training and experience. Since 2009 we have provided avalanche training to thousands of people, setting you up to build experience on a solid foundation of knowledge and skills.
The Avalanche Skills Training (AST) level 1 course is 2 parts: online class (8 hrs) and a field day (8 hrs). The curriculum is designed by Avalanche Canada and given the Hangfire special touch based on our own riding experiences.
The class sessions is an online course you can take on your own time, as long as you complete it before your field day.
The field day is offered every weekend of the winter in Golden, BC and select dates in Revelstoke, Valemount, McBride and Fernie, BC.
For the AST 1 field day we will be riding. You need a snowmobile with appropriate winter riding gear as well as a digital transceiver with a probe and shovel in a back pack.
